I've been a fan of (The) Dwarves for a long time, but it has only been recently that I have started listening to their later records. The band has been going since the mid 80s and, aside from a gap from 2004 to 2011, they have cranked out a lot of records. At some point it seems they reached an almost cult status, as some of the records sell for crazy money and are nigh on impossible to get hold of. For years I couldn't care less about anything they did after leaving Sub Pop, but for some reason I have gotten interested. Of course, trying to pick records up years after they came out is never easy, and the scarcity of some Dwarves releases makes it an even more challenging game. So I figure I'll just be patient and pick up things when they appear... as long as the price isn't nuts.
This 7" popped up for sale in the UK and was pretty much the same price as a new release 7", so I decided I may as well pick it up for the collection.
This came out in 2015 on black vinyl only. Apparently it was released for Record Store Day. The songs 'Sluts of the USA' and 'Fun To Try' are both from their 2014 album 'The Dwarves Invented Rock n Roll'. The other song is exclusive to this 7".
I can't even begin to count how many Dwarves 7"s exist. I think that even if I did nothing else in life other than try to collect Dwarves 7"s, it would take me the rest of my life.
