The Argument

My brain has always made me want to collect sets. So when Dischord started pressing the Fugazi catalogue on colour vinyl a couple of years ago, I got sucked into buying those records again. Well, last month I was in the States and was in a shop and they had the latest pressing of the last album, 'The Argument', on blue vinyl... so I figured I may as well grab one.

'The Argument' came out in 2001, at a point where I had already given up on Fugazi (I gave up when 'End Hits' came out in 1998 as I just didm't like it), so I had never heard this record before. But after buying it, I figured that the least I could do would be to listen to it. And I'm glad I did. This has been my favourite record of 2025 so far .Ok, so we're only 5 days into the new year, but I've listened to this every day so far, and it's really, really good.

Of course, this now means that I am feeling compelled to also pick up the remaining records to complete the set... the first demo, 'Instruent' soundtrack, and then potentially 'End Hits'. Hmmmm. We shall see...

Which color of the First Demo? If you kept End Hits from 1998, you have a colored copy already.

That's a cool shade of blue and looks really good with the cover.

Red Medicine and Repeater also match cover, so I thought this was a great opportunity to buy these as well.
I have the same feeling with Fugazi, sometimes you love it, sometimes it's quite average...

Like you, I stopped paying attention to Fugazi with End Hits. It was boring to me at the time. I'd downloaded the songs from The Argument at some point, but I never paid them much attention and eventually deleted them. Reading this post and seeing how much you are enjoying the album has had me revisit it, and surprisingly I'm liking it a lot right now.
